At the track, hopefully, but if you have a 'Uni' story,
it goes here too!

Spring Drag Accountability Thread

Postby UptownSport » Thu Nov 10, 2011 10:13 pm

I've been shirking for last five years; this'll keep me accountable, join if you'll survive the Winter.
I need to:

1. Install 3.94 with OBX- Perhaps teardown & remove a few teeth from 3d gear dog??????
(dreaded 3d high RPM lockout) <<<<< Turned out to be a worn synchro!!!! Fixed!!!

2. Mill .010" off angle milled head & install

3. Make underhood wiring presentable
Like to do:
- Cut 14" rotors & put on 13" Knuckles
- Make tethers for door windows
- 'solid' rear struts (to save weight)
- Beetle rear discs
- Super-Lightweight rear wheels

Not gonna happen:
- Remove 5th gear
- fuel cell

shirk (shûrk)
v. shirked, shirk·ing, shirks
v.tr.
To avoid or neglect (a duty or responsibility).
v.intr.
To avoid work or duty.

Likewise.

My list:
1. Relocate battery somewhere else
2. Finish porting IM
3. Install IM with my Jeep 60mm, no-90, and (maybe) flow-matched injectors
Don't fake the funk on a nasty dunk.

1. Get MS installed

2. Pull head of 2002 2.4 engine I got and see what style 2.4 block I have. Old style: I put my built ported and shaved 2.0/2.4 head on. New style: I get a pt/srt4 head ported.

3. Installed the Crane 18's I got

4. Get a new intake manifold made... or just keep running the no 90 I got.

I'd love to see low 14's with this setup...

finish an engine and go 12.80 being easy on it this time or put everything I have up for sale in March/April. Could go either way at this point, getting tired of the game. There are no "dibs" on anything so don't even think about asking.

Not doing so good. I **Might** get a mill this weekend to cut head.

that's a bummer ted. i'm doing ok on my plans. my plans for the spring have changed slightly...

-upgrading fuel setup. bypassing stock regulator, installing 1:1 fpr, and installing bosch 044 inline to go hand in hand with the walbro 255
-installing bfmic
-going to IL to tune the ms with erick
